A loan of $600 helped to buy cement and sand.

Maria Santos's story

María, age 37, lives in the Arambala department of Morazán. She lives with her children; ages 18, 17, 9, and 8. She is a single mother, and she lives in her own house. Her children currently go to school.

María supports her household through the food and snack business that she runs. This business emerged through her own initiative ten years ago.

She is currently requesting a loan to improve her house. She needs to set and cement the kitchen floor. However, she needs to buy the cement and sand. Up until now she has not purchased those items because of her lack of liquidity. This loan will give her the support to improve the condition of her home.

Her dreams are to give her children the necessary education, and that they get a degree so that they can use it to fend for themselves in the future.
