In this photo are members of the “Allah Walie II” group. They are small-scale businesswomen based in Kabala, a town in northern Sierra Leone. This is the first loan these entrepreneurs are accessing from SMT and Kiva lenders, and with it, they will be able to expand their businesses, make more profits, and consequently improve their standard of living.

The leader of this group is Kadiatu C.. Kadiatu is age 35; she was born in the town of Kabala, where she currently resides with her husband and 3 children. For twenty years now, Kadiatu has been a businesswoman. Currently, she sells cooked rice, shoes, cosmetics, etc. With her share of this loan, she will expand her business by buying the above-mentioned items in large quantity to add to her stock.
