A loan of $775 helped a member to buy oranges.

Sabali Group's story

The members of the SABALI group are all married women, averaging 35 years of age and 2 children. Most of them live in monogamous families in HAMDALLAYE, a neighborhood in Sikasso, third administrative region of Mali. They are seeking their second loan from Kiva's partner, Soro Yiriwaso, in order to meet customer demand. This group of women sells fruits and vegetables, such as oranges, as does SITAN M.. SITAN M. intends to use her loan to buy 25 sacks of oranges. She gets her supplies at the Grand Market in Sikasso. She sells for cash, at her home and at the HAMDALLAYE market in Sikasso, to a clientele comprising both men and women. She foresees turning an average monthly profit of XOF 70'000 (ca US$ 140), to be used to pay for her family's daily expenses.
