Bora Group's story

Eliza K. is an entrepreneur. She is a member of the Bora business group, aged 55 years, widowed, and the mother of four children, three of whom are students. The fourth is not able to study due to lack of money. Eliza K. sells pagnes (lengths of colored cloth used for clothing) for women. She sets up at the central market in Virunga. She was able to start her business with money received from her oldest daughter. She has been in business for ten years. This new loan will allow her to stock up on new merchandise (four bundles of pagnes). In addition, she aspires to grow her business and spend the rest of her life in peace according to the will of God. Eliza K. thanks Hekima for their work dedicated to poor women who are excluded from the traditional banking system. The Bora group is made up of 29 members.
