A loan of $550 helped she will buy animals (guinea pigs, rabbits and hens).

Adith's story

Adith belongs to the “Los Proceres” community bank, Tarapoto district, San Martin province, department of San Martín. She is married, 62 years old and the mother of 5 children, all on their own.

Due to the need to get her children ahead and thanks to her enterprising spirit and energy, she decided to open her own business selling live animals (guinea pigs, rabbits and hens) raised in her own home. With her first loan of S/. 300.00 Nuevos Soles she outfitted her locale to raise animals little by little. The animals reproduced and grew every month. Now she is very well known to her customers and they know her business.

With this loan of S/1,500.00 Nuevos Soles, she will buy eggs to make her hens lay, and balanced feed and vitamins to keep her animals healthy and free of disease.

Adith is very satisfied with the job she does, despite the work being hard and having to get up early to feed her animals. She believes that the sacrifice she is making day to day is worth it. She is also grateful to the Movimiento Manuela Ramos for offering support to her and to many women who want to get ahead.
