Teresa De Jesus's story

Teresa is a member of the communal bank "Esmeralda," located in the department of San Martín, Peru. She is 41 years old, married and has one son who she cares for.
Teresa is a hard worker. In facing the need to have an income, with encouragement from her husband they started a business selling construction materials specifically for building houses and other buildings. They began with a capital of 1,000.00 Nuevos Soles (361.00 USD). Since that time, they have had good results thanks to the quality of their materials and their excellent customer service.

Currently, Teresa continues to run her business selling construction materials. She now rents a larger and more secure space where she stores her materials. In this way she is able to offer quality service and tend to her clients. With this loan of $1,100 she plans to buy construction supplies She also provides land clearing services. Part of the loan will also be put towards paying her staff each month.
Teresa is very happy with her business and the work that she does. She is grateful to her communal bank Manuela Ramos, for supporting her and people like her who want to work and succeed as well as become great entrepreneurs.
