A loan of $1,000 helped purchase of citrus plants.

Lino's story

Mr. Lino was born in the village 10 de Diciembre in the Grand Valley. He is married, and he and his wife Ana have two adult children. Now he lives in Sombrerito and works as a farmer alongside his wife and children. They grow rice, corn, acachairu ( a small fruit from the mangosteen family), and plantains. They plant and harvest all these crops and then bring them to the market in Santa Cruz. With the loan money they hope to buy citrus plants like oranges, mandarines, etc. to expand their farm. Mr. Lino is a very hardworking man, and he has worked in agriculture since he was a young boy. He has a great store of knowledge about soil and plants. He is thankful for the support offered by this institution.
