Magdalena's story

Magdalena is a member of “Las Collabinas” community bank located in the district of Ilave, part of the province of El Collao and department of Puno.
She is 59 years old, married, and has three children (of whom two are independent). For various reasons she did not attend school.

A year ago she worked with the Manuela Ramos Movement, and was granted her first loan of 500 new soles, which she invested in her business of selling sheep, cattle and llamas. With this loan of 1,500 new soles, she will buy three sheep and alpacas, and work with her husband and children. In parallel they also work on the farm.

Her dream is to have improved cattle to sell for a higher price and earn a better income. What she likes about the community bank is the ease and punctuality of its loan service.
