A loan of $425 helped purchase cosmetics, household products, jewelry, personal use products, make-up, and facial treatments.

Milena Patricia's story

Milena A. lives in the city of Cartagena and sells cosmetics through specialized catalogs that she presents to all of her customers. She also provides advice as to what products should be used based on a customer’s profile and conditions. Milena started her business two years ago when a neighbor convinced her to contact a company that sells through catalogs. After making her first sales, Milena enjoyed the work because of the income she generated since she was unemployed at the time. She had not been able to find a position as an administrative assistant.

This is her first loan with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, as well as her first with Kiva. Milena will use the funds to buy cosmetic products such as crèmes, household products, jewelry, personal use products, make-up, and facial treatments to expand her inventory. She has already improved her income through her business and has plans to strengthen it even more. Her goal is to create jobs through her business because she dreams of traveling all over the world and making progress.
