Temtemneh Group's story

John T. is the leader of this group of entrepreneurs. John was born in Makomp village about 44 years ago. He is married and has eight children. Six of John’s children are attending primary and secondary schools, and two are not yet of school-going age. For fifteen years now, John has been selling palm-oil (the most popular cooking oil), gari (fast food made out of cassava roots), rice and slippers. Members of the Temtemneh group are requesting a loan of 1,200,000 SLL for each in the group from SMT/Kiva lenders. With the help of this loan, they will be able to expand their businesses, make more sales and consequently improve on their living conditions. John T. will use his share of the loan to expand his business. He will buy the above-mentioned items at wholesale prices to add to his current stock.
