Second Hand Clothing Sellers Group's story

Meet members of the Second Hand Clothing Sellers group from Makeni, a city in northern Sierra Leone. They are all local entrepreneurs who have come to SMT, a partner of Kiva.org to apply for a loan of SLL 1,400,000 each. With the help of this loan they will be able to expand their businesses, make more sales and improve their living conditions.

Joseph M. B. (left) is the leader of this group. The 39-year-old is married and has three children – two in primary school and one in secondary school. Joseph M. B. has been a businessman for 13 years now and he sells used clothes. With his share of this loan, he will buy bales of used clothes to expand his business.
