A loan of $2,100 helped a member to buy vegetables.

Santa Ana Group's story

Mirtha C., age 36, is a member of the Santa Ana Communal Bank. The bank was formed four years ago. Its members are people who strive day to day to increase their household income.

Mirtha C. is an example of this. She has four children; three of them are minors. She sells vegetables every day in a small market that is close to her house. She started in this business because income in her house was too low, and she needed greater earnings.

Through her work efforts she was able to build her house and give her children an education. In the future she would like to finish building her house and expand her vegetable stand. She will use the recent loan to buy vegetables for her business.
