A loan of $925 helped to buy sacks of natural and chemical fertilizers.

Guillermina's story

Guillermina is a hard-working 45 year old woman. Her family is comprised of her husband, Porfirio, and their four children. The children are very united, but they only live with three of them. She lives in her own house, which is located in the rural community of Pongo.

Thanks to her perseverance and dedication, this successful woman managed to get a truck. She uses the truck to transport oranges from the central jungle to the capital of the country. But, this is not the only income that she has. She also has four cows who give enough milk to make cheese. She sells the cheese to the people who live in her area.

However, the work that she likes the best is farming. She has been growing potatoes and peas for 20 years. She sends these crops to Lima via an intermediary, a wholesaler who sells products in the capital. Her plans are to grow greater quantities in order to be able to get better earnings.

She belongs to the “Paraíso al Progreso” Communal Bank. This is her third loan with MFP, where she is a regular collaborator.

Within a few months, Guillermina will harvest potatoes. Therefore, she is planning on buying various sacks of natural and chemical fertilizer so that her next harvest is a complete success.
