A loan of $475 helped purchase sacks of compost.

Manuel's story

Manuel, age 56, is a friendly hardworking gentleman. He lives in his own home with his wife Dionisia (age 56) and beloved son Edgar (age 8) for whom he wants to provide a better quality of life. With great enthusiasm for his work, Manuel goes out every day to cultivate his fields. He grow mainly potatoes, peas, and corn, products that sell quickly at the market in the city of Tarma. His crops are of high quality. What he enjoys most about his work is cultivating the land. Manuel has been farming for 31 years and considers the most difficult part to be fumigation in order to prevent insects from damaging his plants. The chemicals can be bad for his health. Going forward, Manuel hopes to improve his production since he must rely on it for his income.

This is his fourth loan with MFP. Manuel is very happy to obtain these funds and willing to submit all of his payments on time. He is well-liked in his Communal Bank. The loan of 1300 PEN that he requested will be used to buy more compost for his fields since he wants to produce more.
