A loan of $375 helped to buy sacks of manure and insecticide.

Basilia's story

Basilia, 46, is a very kind, hard working woman. She lives in her own house with her husband, Juan, 44, and their four minor children for whom she wants to provide a better quality of life.

By working hard, Basilia has managed to grow her crops. She rises very early every morning to water and care for her respective crops. She sells her products in Tarma’s wholesale market where the peas, lima beans and corn she grows are quickly bought.

What she enjoys the most about her work is enjoying the freedom of working in the fields. She’s been in this occupation for 13 years and considers the most difficult part having to till the soil. In time she’d like to be able to buy more land to expand production.

This is her 4th loan with MFP. She knows that the support will help her quite a bit in the development and progress of her business. This is why she’s willing to repay all her installments punctually. She is a very responsible member of her communal bank which makes her very well liked. She will use the requested 1000 new soles to buy manure and insecticide.
