Amancio's story

Amancio, is a 44 year old worker; who with his wife Rina and their 6 children form a lovely family. They live together in their own home, located in the village of Pongo. Perserverance is his key virtue, he has been working during the night for the last 5 months for a private company, whose business is in the hydroelectric field. He brings in extra money for his household by this means. “When I only work in agriculture, I only have limited income”, he states. Amancio, has for 30 years grown lettuce, potato and a variety of vegetables. Every morning is focused on their care and fertilization, as he works without rest, to be able to get his children ahead and see them grow into capable and professional people. What he likes the most about his work is to be able to trade his harvests at the wholesaler market in the city, as there; he sees the reward for his hard work. He belongs to the “Paraíso al progreso” communal bank, and this is the third loan he has had with MFP, and where he feels happy to be able to belong to a responsible and committed association. Amancio, will very shortly be harvesting his lettuce, and with the loan he is thinking of buying 2 bags of pea seeds, which cost about S/. 600 soles each, which he will scatter on his farm land which will soon be harvested. He also wants to buy several sacks of organic fertilzer.
