A loan of $725 helped to buy fertilizer and sacks of manure.

Hector's story

Héctor, 34, is from Anco district. He is a cheerful, hard working young man. He lives in the community of Santa Rosa where he built his own house with much dedication. Héctor works the land. He’s a farmer growing cocoa beans and coffee. His parents taught him to till the soil and thanks to them he has been working for 15 years and to date works his own fields; he is well aware of how hard working the fields is.

During harvest time he hires day laborers who are the ones that transport the harvested goods a certain distance to be sold. He feels very committed to his work because thanks to his daily effort he enjoys seeing that his plants are productive thus leading to good profits. He tells us that he doesn’t enjoy winter much because during those months insects are abundant and rain is constant thereby making his work less productive. In time he’d like to buy more land and diversify his crops to provide better economic stability to his future family.

This is his first loan with MFP and he is happy to repay on time. He will use the requested 2000 new soles to buy fertilizer and manure to improve his crops thus obtaining better harvests.
