A loan of $1,200 helped to buy an irrigation motor and to continue producting vegetables.

Jorge Isaac's story

Jorge Isaac M. C., age 34, was born in the El Rosario community in Esteli. He is a farmer. He is married and has two children. He is the primary source of income. When he was 15 he started his business with traditional plants. He started with half of a block (equal to approximately 1.7 acres) of tomatoes. Then, with help from his family, he increased it to a block of tomatoes. He has always devoted himself to growing basic grains and tobacco. He has over 15 years of experience in this line of work.

He now has some cows that give them milk to drink, and he has oxen. These animals are the fruit of his work growing basic grains.

Jorge requested the loan to be able to buy a motor for irrigation. That way he will continue producing vegetables. With this he hopes to have a better yield at harvest time.

His goal is to get ahead with the crops in order to be able to produce more, improved vegetables. He will sell them at a good price and generate income. He will get his children ahead with a good education and a better future than he had.
