Joyce is married and has 2 very young children. She owns and operates a farming business, planting and harvesting rice and corn for sale. Joyce has been engaged in her business for over 11 years and earns approximately 25,000 PHP every harvest season or after four months.
In 2010, Joyce joined ASKI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Joyce is requesting a new loan of 8,000 PHP which will be used to purchase additional seeds, seedlings and young crops to raise. This will be the 2nd loan taken out by Joyce from ASKI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve/expand her business.

This is a Group Loan
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
