Sodnomdorj's story

Sodnomdorj, 49, is married and lives with his wife and two young daughters in the Songinohairhan district of Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. They live in a ger, a Mongolian nomadic housing tent, in someone's backyard on the outskirts of the city.

Sodnomdorj began to drive a microbus around the city, transporting passengers from one side of the city to the other, in 2005. His wife works with him as the conductor while he drives the bus. Sodnomdorj also started a raw materials sales business in 2007. He is a hardworking and honest person who says, "I would like to rebuild the engine and acquire some parts for the microbus in order to operate my public transportation business consistently and increase my profit." He is requesting a loan of 1,500,000 MNT to buy spare parts and cover maintenance costs for his current microbus.
