Martha Yolanda's story

Mrs. Martha T. is a member of the Más que Vencedoras [More than Winners] community bank. She lives in the community of Shisquing in the city of Azogues. This city is known for its beauty, which is a mixture of colonial and modern. Its people are kind and cordial. Martha is 29 years old, married and has 4 children aged 14, 12, 9 and 6. Her two oldest children are in high school and the youngest are in an elementary school in town. Her husband works as a sawyer and they own their own house built with the couple's hard work and sacrifice. Martha works in the home and she has to take care of her family. In her house she raises chickens and guinea pigs that she sells when she needs to and they are also for consumption. She also helps her husband in his job as a sawyer. She has been in the community bank for 6 years and she likes it as she has very good friends. She will use the money from the loan to invest in her husband's business. They are going to buy some trees to prepare the lumber and then sell it at the warehouses. Her goal is to give her children a good education so that they can get ahead in life.
