A loan of $1,100 helped to buy 2500 linear feet of wood beams.

Efa Sarai's story

Efa is a member of the “Mujeres Solidarias” (Mutually Supportive Women” communal bank in Callería district, Ucayali department. She is 37 years old, married and her husband works as a mechanic. They have five children (two adult, independent ones and 3 who are still little and depend on her).

Efa has been working for 12 years with Manuela Ramos loans. She has been investing them in lumber sales, a business that has proven to be quite profitable and has improved her household economy.

With this 3000 new sol loan she will buy 2500 feed of wood beams which is more commercial and she will be able to sell quickly.

For Efa, Manuela Ramos has been who gave her a hand in order to have capital to put to work, work which to date she’s done well in and complements what her husband contributes to the home.

At the same time, Efa is generating employment for another person who does her household chores because she doesn’t have time for that; her business keeps her busy all day.
