Mougne Group's story

The Mougne solidarity group has been created in 2008 at the inauguration of the Banc Villageois to which it belongs. It is composed of 11 women living in the same neighborhood. They are friends and neighbors who decided to create a group together. The group belongs to the Banc Villageois of Kobitene.

Mrs. Christine Diehiou, standing to the right with her arm raised in the photo, is the group’s leader. She is 48 years old. She is single without children. But she has six children in her care, entrusted to her by her sister. She has been selling dry fish at the main market of Ziguinchor. Her collaboration with Caurie-MF allows her to take out loans and grown her business. Her goal is to support herself and to provide for her sister’s children in her care.
