A loan of $725 helped to hire day laborers to clear her fields.

Eulalia's story

Eulalia P., 50, is from San Francisco district. She is married to Juan C., 59, and they have two children: Ronald, 20 and Anderson, 17. They live in their own house located in the community of Carmen Pampa in San Francisco district.

With much effort, Eulalia and her husband, Juan, have managed to till their fields to make them more productive. Eulalia is a cocoa bean, coca leaf and achiote farmer which are economically sustainable crops. During harvest time Eulalia has to hire workers in order to quickly gather the fruit from the plants.

She has been working for 25 years and has become a responsible person. She enjoys caring for her crops. However, she has to transport her products from her fields all the way to the city of San Francisco which is very difficult. She knows, though, that once she sells them she earns very good profits on each product she sells. In the future she’d like to buy more land to increase her crops.

This is her 16th loan with MFP. She has been very punctual with her previous loans and expects to be so again now. She is a very representative member of her communal bank and will use the requested 2000 new soles to hire day laborers to clear her field.
