Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Juana Francisca's story

Juana Francisca is from Carapeguá. She is 46 years old, married, and has 4 children: 2 are grown up and 2 are still dependent on her. She owns her own home.

Juana has been working as a traveling saleswoman for more than 10 years. She has two large looms for weaving bedspreads. She makes these for other sellers but also sells some herself in other towns. She also sells other items depending on her customers.

Through this work, Juana makes a stable income. She has 50 regular customers in the towns where she sells her products.

Juana is requesting a loan from Fundación Paraguaya to buy another loom so that she can make more of her products and thereby make more profits.
