Mrs. Chuk Srey Touch Village Bank Group's story

Nine people make up a village bank loan group located in Run village in Takeo province. They will use their portion of the loan for varied ways to support their families. Chuk S. T. is the president of the group. She was selected by the other members. She owns a general store in local village where she earns money by selling groceries to support her family. Since her business is doing well, she wants to expand. Chuk S. T. is requesting a loan to buy more groceries to sell. Her husband, Vannak Sien, is a farmer who owns a very small piece of land where he grows rice to sell to support his family. The couple supports three children, one of whom is employed in a garment factory, one of whom is a laborer, and one of whom attends the local public school.
