A loan of $925 helped sow vegetables and cabbage.

Fanor Efren's story

Fanor Z. lives in the El Coyolito region. He is married with six children and has more than 20 years of experience working in agriculture. He began working alongside his father at a vey young age. He remembers being around 5 years old when he began to help him with all the farm activities. At the same time Fanor was studying, which was not easy for him since his school was around three kilometeres from his home. He could not finish his schooling like he wanted to, leaving after Grade 6 of primary school.

Fanor remembers that at the age of 12 he sowed his first block of land with cabbage. Later, when he was able to support himself with his harvests, he married and moved out of his parents' home. He bought a small block of land and bit by bit he built a home.

Fanor is currently breeding cattle and working in agriculture, sowing legumes and vegetables. His goal is to bring up his children to have a much better quality of life than his own. He will use this loan to sow cabbage.
