A loan of $725 helped to buy wholesale firewood.

Alberta's story

Alberta is 54 years old and lives with her two children in her own home. For four years she has been selling firewood which she buys wholesale and later sells at the different markets in her village. She uses the patio of her home as the main warehouse for the wood which she keeps stockpiled.

Most of the help she receives is from her eldest son who transports the firewood until it is all sold. Over the past few years the firewood business has been profitable and has allowed her to increase her income. Therefore she wants to increase her working capital and establish more sales points.

This is her fifth loan through MFP. She is very happy for the financial support and has always been good about paying back the loans on time. She enjoys being part of the communal bank because of how committed and supportive the members are. She is grateful to all the lenders who are helping her to grow her business. She plans to use the loan to buy firewood at wholesale prices.
