A loan of $725 helped to purchase free minutes for calling, as well as sweets.

Pilar's story

Pilar is 24 years old, and lives in her parents’ home, along with her mother and siblings. Four years ago she decided to set up her own source of income, and rented premises on a commercial street. There, she had a mishap, in that everything was stolen. Because of this, she had to establish her business at her parents’ home. Since that time, she has offered cell-phone service, and for this has a rate-control device in the phone booths. She supplements this business with the sale of sweets and other general items, such as gifts and personal-care products. Thus, her business offers greater variety, which is attractive to customers. She states that she likes to work independently, because she can handle her own funds, and thus she is planning to purchase better equipment for her business. This is her second loan with MFP, and she is very happy to know that she has financial support. She is pleased to be part of a communal bank, because all of the members are reliable and responsible. She thanks all those who will manage the loan she is requesting, because it will be very useful in growing her business. She will use the funds requested to buy more free line time to make calls in the phone booth, as well as to purchase sweets and soft drinks to offer her customers.
