A loan of $1,225 helped a member developing a small-scale incense business.

Cherche Mari Group's story

The solidarity group CHERCHE MARI was created on December 14, 2008. It is comprised of nine women who live in the same neighborhood. Their group was formed due to the neighborly and friendly relationships they share. The group is part of the Keur Serigne Louga Est Banc Villageois.

Madame Eumeu D., standing on the far right in the purple outfit, is the group leader. She is 24 years old. She is married and the mother of two children.

For the past year she has been selling incense. Her husband is a tailor. Eumeu gives him fabric, which he turns into clothing and then she sells the finished products in the neighborhood.

Her loan will help her develop her incense selling business so that she can make more profits, which will contribute to her expenses.

Her goal is to consistently save money through her Banc Villageois.

In this group: Eumeu, Thiane, Aminata, Siga, Khardiata, Fatou Bintou, Dior, Aminata, Binta
