Dembagnouma Group's story

Dembagnouma Group is composed of five married women, who on average are 37 years old and have five children. They live in monogamous families in Sanoubougou I, a neighborhood of the city of Sikasso (third administrative region of Mali).

This is their fourth group loan from the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso to satisfy the needs of their customers. Their previous loans have been repaid on schedule. The women in this group sell wax pagnes (colorful African cloths), food condiments, vegetables and soap.

Mrs Bintou Sangaré intends to use her loan to buy 12 boxes of soap at the great market in Sikasso. She will retail her goods for cash at the Médine market in Sikasso to a clientele made up of men and women.

She expects to make an average profit of 95,000 CFA francs a month, which she will use to provide for her family.
