Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $1,200 helped to increase investment capital for farming activity.

Nancy's story

Ms. Nancy V. O. is 19 years old. She is single and a high school graduate. She lives with her parents and is a farmer. She grows potatoes, peas, corn and barley in the community of Plano Bajo - Tíraque, located approximately 65 Km. from the city of Cochabamba. She is also planning on studying at the Universidad Mayor de San Simón of Cochabamba, since they accepted her as a regular student. Her parents are elderly, but despite that they continue working and cooperating actively with their daughter to be able to increase their income, thus improving their quality of life.

To that effect, they are in need of needing to ask for investment capital to buy a water pump to facilitate the irrigation of their crops. Ms. Nancy will also buy ducks since she has ponds where she can keep these animals and in this way have additional income by selling eggs and meat.
