A loan of $775 helped a member to buy basic grains.

Guerrero Group's story

The 'Guerrero' (Warrior) group is made up of four hard-working, enterprising women. One of them is Estela S. who is the group's coordinator. This 31 year-old lady is the owner of a small grocery store. She started out in her business three years ago, selling pre-paid cell phone cards and then gradually began to stock her business with products such as snacks, soda and basic grains.

Estela tells us that she feels supported by her family since both her husband and her 7 year-old daughter help out in their spare time.

The other members of this group are 47 year-old Lucila G., who sells firewood; Catalina S., who sells tomatoes as an itinerant street vendor and would like to own a spot from which to make her sales; and Arlen H. who has been selling tomatoes for two years.
