Sidi is a married woman with nine children, six of whom graduated from school, while three still attend school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food, clothing and school fees.
She has operated a firewood selling business for the past three years. She sells from home to her neighbours and passersby. Sidi faces a major challenge of competition and high cost of transportation in her business. She hopes to sell wholesale in the future.
With the Kshs 40,000 she wants to purchase bundles of firewood for resale. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to improve her living standards.
