A loan of $1,600 helped a member to purchase livestock feed and other supplies.

May's Group's story

May F. is from the village of Disimuray, Cauayan City, Isabela. She is 36 years old. May is the group leader of an eight-member group loan offered by ASKI. While each member of the group receives an individual loan, they are all collectively responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members if someone is delinquent or defaults.

May is married and has five school-aged children. To make a living, May raises pigs for fattening and sale. May is just starting this business.

In 2010, May joined ASKI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. May has successfully repaid a previous loan from ASKI. This previous loan was used to purchase livestock feed and other supplies.

May is requesting a new loan of 10,000 PHP, which will also be used to purchase livestock feed and other supplies. This will be the second loan taken out by May from ASKI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve/expand her business.
