A loan of $550 helped to buy sheets and cosmetics to fill her customers' orders.

Nelly's story

Nelly, age 40, lives in her own house with her 40 year old husband, Manuel, and their three young children. Together they look to get ahead. That is why they work hard every day. This enterprising woman sells a very well-known brand of beauty products. She is very happy with this work. It allows her to enjoy herself while she sells to her friends and acquaintances. With her power of persuasion, she manages to make frequent sales. She also sells sleepwear by order. This means that when she has orders, she gets a diversity of comforters and sheets from the wholesalers in the city. This business generates good income. She offers credit, but it is more expensive than paying in cash.

As if this weren’t enough, on the week-ends she needs to get up early to start selling tamales at the doorway of a bakery. With her work she helps her children. Also, she has many plans for the future like setting up a store in her house. There is no competition in her area.

This is her seventh loan with MFP, and she pledges to make her payments on time. She does not want to disappoint the people who made the loan possible. The loan will allow her to keep working as she looks to make progress. Nelly plans to use the requested loan to buy sheets and cosmetics in order to have stock. She has various pending orders that she wants to fill to improve her income.
