Juana's story

Juana is a member of the communal bank "Cuentas Claras" and lives in the city of Rancagua. She has owned a bakery near her house for 3 years now, however, she has 30 years of experience in this profession. She also sells snacks or light meals to construction workers. Her oldest daughter works with her in the business. Thanks to the loans from Fondo Esperanza she has been able to purchase various appliances such as a freezer, a meat slicer and a cooler. Her dream is to incorporate more products into her business. Now that she has the necessary appliances, with this loan she will buy merchandise such as dairy products, frozen chicken and dried meat. Her dream is to have a small restaurant so that she can better serve her customers that buy snacks from her. Juana is a master in the kitchen and she really likes her work. She is very grateful for the support from Fondo Esperanza since because of the loans that she has received, her business has grown. Rancagua is in the Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins region. It is a modern city that regulates the main fruit-growing and wine production and exportation in Chile. It is also a mining city because, located its mountain range, is the largest underground mine in the world, "El Teniente", with its 4,500 km of tunnels.
