Agnes's story

Agnes Mukolwe is a married lady. Her husband is an engineer and they have three children aged between 38 and 17 years-old. Her business is located in the town of Kakamega, which is in the region in Kenya known for the production of sugarcane and is well known as the sugarbelt region.

Agnes sells cereals to the local residents. She has been in this business for fifteen years now. She says that this business is profitable and the only major challenge she has is financial constraints. She works very hard everyday to keep her business doing well. She is using her loan of Kes 20,000 to buy cereals and also to pay her last born's child school fees. In the future, she hopes to grow her business and provide better living standards for her family. She describes herself as focused, intelligent and thoughtful.
