Twige Group's story

Salima N. is a 22-year-old merchant who lives in the commune of Rugombo, Province of Cibitoke, in West Burundi. She has had a restaurant in her own home in Rugombo for four years, whereas she was a farmer before beginning in this trade. She attended school and reached the 6th grade. She is a mother with one child, who is a year old.

Salima is on her sixth community loan cycle with Turame. She is asking for a Kiva loan for increasing her capital in order to expand her restaurant. She will do so by buying large amounts of provisions and thus increase her saving. Through this loan, with her savings in hand, she hopes to meet the needs of her family over time and to buy a second house.

She is a member of the community group "Twige".
