Pros N. is a 21 year-old lady from Phnom Penh City in Cambodia. She is currently employed as a sewing worker in a factory. She has been working in this sector since 2008 and receives a salary every month. Pros N. lives with her parents and other family members in a small house.
At present, Pros N. must hire a motor taxi to take her to work, or walk, because she has no vehicle. She wishes to have her own motorbike, which will reduce her taxi expenses. She has decided to apply for a loan from Kiva for that purpose.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
