A loan of $725 helped to buy sacks of organic manure.

Margot's story

Margot is a modest 33 year-old woman who, together with her husband Elmer, cares for their 2 beautiful children. They live together as a family in their own home which is located in the village of Patay.

In order to support her family, this brave woman works as a farmer and provides public transport services. Every morning, her husband Elmer goes out working with his car. He transports residents of their village to the city of Tarma. Meanwhile, Margot spends her time caring for her bean, pea and gladioli crops. She has been in this line of work for 14 years. What she most enjoys is travelling to the city of Tarma where she sells her produce. "Being in the countryside is marvellous. You do not earn much but you live peacefully" she says. For this reason, she would like to continue improving her crops.

Margot is a member of the "Picaflores de Patay" (Patay Hummingbirds) community bank and this is her fifth loan with MFP. She is a hard-working and responsible member of her community bank. Very soon Margot will harvest her gladioli flowers. She will use her loan money to buy several sacks of organic manure so that she can obtain a good harvest.
