Los Peregrinos Group's story

Los Peregrinos (The Pilgrims) Investment Bank is already in its 3rd loan cycle and is composed of 8 members, 7 women and 1 man. The women are dedicated to commerce and sell clothing, among other things.

Luz is the president of the bank. She was elected because of her responsibility and solidarity with her companions. Luz is separated from her husband. She says it was a difficult moment for her but she has forged ahead for the benefit of her 3 children, all of whom are school age. Luz sells second-hand clothing at the fair in Yungas and also, travels to distant fairs. She lives in her family's house, and her desire is to have her own house. Luz is saving to achieve her desire.

With this loan, she will buy more merchandise and thereby increase her working capital. In this manner, her income and quality of life will be improved. Luz is a very hard-working person and is very grateful to the institution for the help it affords.
