A loan of $500 helped to buy a motorbike for her husband to start a new business as a motor-taxi driver.

Reth's story

Reth S., 40, is married and resides with her three children in Kampong Chnang province, Cambodia, an area known for its palm products. S. sells fish, earning an income of about $5 per day. Her husband is a fisherman, earning an income of around $5 per day to help cover the family expenses. Each month, the family has to spend $70 on food and $47 on the other necessary expenses.

S. is requesting a loan of $500 to purchase a motorbike so that her husband can start a new business as a motor-taxi driver. In the future, she would like to use the additional income to repair her house. This will be her first loan from CREDIT, a long standing Kiva partner.
