A loan of $425 helped to buy supplies to stock her stationery store.

Ma Belgica's story

Bélgica Domínguez P. is married to Dionisio Pérez Vázquez. They have four children, two are already married and two are still in their care: 12 year-old Pilar and their youngest, 6 year-old Ana Cristel.

This is the first time that Bélgica has requested a loan from Fundación Realidad. She is requesting the loan to buy materials with which to stock her small stationery store since there are items that her customers are looking for which she doesn't have. Bélgica has owned her business for two years and it is doing well even though there are some things that she still lacks.

Bélgica decided to set up her own business, with her husband's support, because there isn't a nearby stationery store where she lives and pupils had to go to another village in order to buy their supplies. She decided to support them so that they didn't have to travel far from their village.

Bélgica re-invests the profits that she makes back into her store since she often sells out of certain items and when her customers come to buy them she has to tell them that she doesn't have any. She would like her stationery store to keep growing every day so that she can save up and get her two growing daughters ahead in life. She would like them to receive a good education.
