Doña Miryam A. es una señora de 55 años, casada, madre de doce hijos. Vive en la localidad de Nueva Virginia de Siquirres de Limón. Se ha dedicado siempre a su familia y ahora cuenta con el apoyo de un hijo para el servicio que brinda de sastrería.
Inició su negocio hace diez años. Ve en su comunidad la manera de aumentar sus ingresos, ya que es la unica satrería que hay. Por lo que solicita financiamiento a Fundación Mujer para cubrir la demanda de sus clientes.
Ella invertirá su préstamo en la compra de materia prima tales como telas, hilos, encajes, zipper entre otros.
Su sueño es tener un taller de costura bien acondionado y grande para asi ir superandose poco a poco y mejorar la calidad de vida de ella y de su familia.
Actualmente cuenta con el obstáculo de falta de capital de trabajo para la compra de materia prima. por ese motivo busca financiamiento en Fundación Mujer para hacer crecer su negocio.

In Costa Rica, funding for microfinance institutions is hard to come by, and many institutions find themselves having difficulty growing and reaching all the demand for loans that exist. Kiva works with Fundacion Mujer because it attends a very marginalized population in Costa Rica, with a specific focus on women. In addition to the loan, Fundacion Mujer provides specialized training programs for their borrowers on everything from computer classes to salon training. Because of the difficulty in obtaining capital in Costa Rica, Fundacion Mujer cannot serve all the women that need loans. Therefore Kiva plays a unique role in helping Fundacion Mujer grow its portfolio and reach borrowers it otherwise would not be able to.
