A loan of $1,050 helped tomato farming.

Byron Jose's story

Byron M. is originally from Rio Abajo, Pueblo Nuevo, in Esteli. He is married and has 2 children.
He was unable to finish school because of a lack of financial resources, and was obliged instead to drop out right after he finished 8th grade.
He started farming when he was young, growing staple grains and tobacco. Currently he is planting produce such as tomatoes. He had a little money saved when he started, and the help of a brother-in-law.
He has requested this loan to purchase supplies for buying tomatoes.
He hopes to turn a good profit this Easter, to keep growing his business a little at a time and not have to depend on his brother-in-law.
