Zaina G. is en entrepreneur and the secretary of the "La Victoire" Group. She is 52 years old, married, and the mother of 2 children; the eldest is 36 and the youngest is 33. They are both educated and have their own homes. Her husband is a mechanic technician. Zaina G. is a seamstress and she sells children's clothing from her home. She was a teacher but she started her own business with money she saved from her salary. She also received support from her husband in the development of her business. It has been 38 years since she started as a seamstress. In early 2009, she accessed her first loan from IMF Hekima (Kiva Field Partner), amounting to $50. Her new loan will be used to purchase more tailoring materials (fabrics, threads, embroidery materials, metallic fabrics, lace, etc.). In addition, she hopes to build a well equipped large shop in the city of Goma, where she could also train members of the family in sewing arts According to her, sewing is life. The existence of man on earth is proportioned by clothing. Zaina G. is thankful to Hekima for their support of the poor who are excluded from traditional banks.
