A loan of $550 helped buying two bales of secondhand clothing.

Elsa Patricia's story

Elsa Patricia P. O., age 45, is the single mother of two children. She lives in the San Antonio neighborhood of the municipality of La Paz. She started her business because her husband abandoned her, and she needed a source of income to raise her children. Since there are no companies in her village where she could look for a job, it occurred to her that she could buy secondhand clothing and set up a small shop in her home. In addition to this, for the past two years, Elsa has operated a food stand in the local school. Her children are longer an economic burden for her, since they are now working, but she helps them with her grandchildren because she loves them very much. Elsa is requesting the loan to buy two bales of secondhand clothing to resell, as well as some mannequins to display the clothing. With the help of the loan, her life will change in a positive way, because she will maintain her source of income and continue to support her household. Her goals are to expand her business to other nearby communities, and also to see her family more united. This is her first loan cycle with FAMA, and she plans to make her payments in a punctual manner.
