Here is Alpha S., a small scale businessman in Kabala, a town in northern Sierra Leone. Alpha bakes and sells breads. He has been in this profession for many years now. He is requesting for a loan of SLL 2,000,000.00 from SMT/Kiva lenders for the first time. With the help of this loan, he will be able to buy bags of flour, yeast, oil, etc. in large quantity in order to produce a larger amount of breads.
Alpha who was born in Kabala is married to businesswoman and the couple has three children – two in primary school and one in secondary school.

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT) is Kiva’s oldest field partner in Sierra Leone.
