A loan of $1,100 helped to buy seeds, manure and fertilizers for her crops.

Leonarda's story

Leonarda is 46 years old. She is a very loving and hard-working mother who lives in a rental house together with her partner Máximo (47) and her three young children for whom she would like to provide a better quality of life.

Leonarda's daily activity is growing cacao. Through a lot of hard work, she has managed to make her land very productive which means that her crops are very good quality and very highly prized in the city of San Francisco where she takes them to sell.

What Leonarda most likes about her work is caring for her crops. She has been in this business for 25 years and she considers the most difficult part of her work to be transporting her products since the sacks are very heavy and make her very tired. In the future, she would like to buy new land which will allow her to increase her crop production.

This is Leonarda's 14th loan with MFP and she hopes to be very punctual in making her repayments as she doesn't want to cause problems for her community bank where she feels very happy because all the members are very responsible people. Leonarda will invest the 3,000 Peruvian soles she has requested in buying seed, manure and fertilizers since she would like to improve her production. In this way, she hopes to improve her profits.
